THE MECCANUITY CHALLENGE 2011
Ping-Pong Firing Range
1. Devise a machine to fire ping pong balls.
2. Aim and fire your machine from a table top, behind a line, at a distance of 9 feet from the target.
3. The target consists of 3 holes of various sizes in a vertical board. (See diagram below)
4. The winner will be the fastest competitor to shoot a ball into each target hole.
5. A point-scoring system, will determine runners-up.
6. Balls may be retrieved and re-used.
7. The machine must be built using recognised Meccano parts or their replicas.
8. Motors, if used, should be Meccano, either clockwork or battery powered.
9. Provide your own ping pong balls, traditional 38mm or modern 40mm size.
10. A time limit may be imposed, depending on the number of entries.
11. There will be prizes for junior and senior winners. Juniors are 14 years and under. Seniors are more than 15 years old on Sunday 1st May 2011.
12. Proxy entries are welcome.
